Feeling Blu?

Blast those monsoon blues away with Sony’s new home theatre system

Here’s one reason to cheer if you’re rained in this monsoon. Sony India has rolled out its new product offering, launching a new 3D Blu-ray home theatre system, which enhances video content immensely, thereby creating an ultimate 3D viewing experience in full HD.

The new Sony BDV-N990W is loaded not just with sharper and clearer HD picture quality, it boasts richer and powerful sound too. The product uses the company’s S-Master Full Digital Amplifier to reproduce a wide and dynamic range and frequency response. The 3D Surround technology delivers a realistic 3D sound experience with incredible depth and presence for Blu-ray or broadcast content by creating an optimised virtual sound field. The speakers’ two-way setting layout provides the flexibility needed for various home décor arrangements by allowing users to position the speakers vertically or horizontally.

Wait, there’s more. The system also comes with wireless connectivity, which gives patrons access to a wide range of online entertainment content. It allows convenient content transfer with compatible devices. Users can enjoy music and photos stored on their Smartphone or Tablet on a grander scale, by simply using the throw function to transfer content to the home theatre system quickly and easily. Ditto for music and photos stored on a PC, where users can simply access them via their home network and play them back on the big screen. Users can also set up their mobile device as a remote control device for the entertainment system.

The Sony BDV-N990W is priced at Rs 39,990 and is aimed at consumers across the SEC A, B and C categories. The company has a robust marketing plan up its sleeve too. According to a Sony spokesperson, “Sony connects with its target audience throughout the year and creates 360-degree brand campaigns, which mostly include above-the-line and below-the-line activities such as print and television commercial, shop-front, cinema, OOH, online and PR activities. In FY12, we plan to pump in an investment of Rs 450 crore towards marketing activities, which will be in sync with the business growth of the company.”
