Apparently, Fox Searchlight wasn’t quite finished with its Sundance shopping. The indie label grabbed its fifth festival title when it closed a deal on Wednesday to take the rights to all English-speaking territories for Sound Of My Voice.
Brit Marling, Christopher Denham, Nicole Vicius and Avery Pohl star in the story of a young Los Angeles couple that infiltrates a cult led by a charismatic young woman. Zal Batmanglij directed the film and wrote the script with Marling. Hans Ritter, Shelley Surpin and Marling produced.
During the January festival, Fox Searchlight took most worldwide rights to the high-school comedy Homework (now titled The Art Of Getting By), which it will release in June; worldwide rights to the dark drama Martha Marcy May Marlene; worldwide remake rights to the documentary The Bengali Detective; and English-speaking territory rights to the drama Another Earth. This last, which also starred and was written and produced by Marling, will be released in July.
