With yesterday’s release Raaz 3 opening fabulously, the celebrations have begun at Fox Star Studios. Having tasted success with this 3D film, Fox Star already has another 3D film up its sleeve, Zapatlela 2. This will mark Fox Star Studios’ entry into the Marathi film industry and that’s not the only ‘First’attached to the project.

Following up on the 1993 Mahesh Kothare-directed blockbuster, which introduced the legendary character Tatya Vinchu, this will be the first ever sequel in Marathi. And that’s not all, it will be the first Marathi film to be shot and released in stereophonic 3D.

Produced by Select Media and Kothare & Kothare Vision, Zapatlela 2 will see Mahesh Kothare again at the helm of the film as director and writer. Confirming the news, Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said, “We are very happy to be associated with Zapatlela 2 as it marks Fox Stars’ entry into Marathi cinema. Interestingly, like Raaz 3, it is an exciting franchise and we are very excited about developing its sequel in 3D.”

Zapatlela 2 is slotted to release on Gudi Padwa, April 11, 2013.
