In 2005, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum created a mini-storm at the box office due to its notoriously irreverent content and double entendre. Now, over a decade later, Riteish and Tusshar return with their goofy antics in its sequel, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum – a sex comedy targeted at young adults. Hence, one expects the soundtrack to be peppy, vibrant and high on energy!
The opening track Dil garden garden ho gaya is undeniably catchy. The techno tune, easy-to-sing along lyrics and Vishal Dadlani’s grungy vocals fit into place smoothly, giving this track immense like ability.Mayur Puri’s lyrics are cheesy yet fun. Guest composers Sachin-Jigar create the best track in the album with Dil garden garden ho gaya. And the Austin Powers-inspired music video only adds to the appeal of the song.
Hum toh hain cappucino (Sukhwinder Singh, Daler Mehndi, Riteish Deshmukh, Swaroop) is a chaotic, extended version of UP Bihar lootne (Shool), the dance number that put the nation’s spotlight on Shilpa Shetty’s navel way back in 1999.This new, all-male rustic version, though boisterous doesn’t quite retain the madness of the original. Though Sonu Nigam shines in the ballad Shirt da button, the lyrics are unbearably corny.
Volume high karle (Neeraj Sridhar) is a techno track along the lines of Music bandh na karo (Hum Tum Shabana) sans the energy. Everything about this song istediously ordinary.
Verdict: Hmmm
