Raaz 3 A Winner; 35 Cr Plus And Counting

After opening with impressive numbers on Friday, Vishesh Films’ Raaz 3 sustained its collections during the weekend and earned over Rs 35 crore all-India. The film, which features Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta, released both in 2D and 3D, whereas the audience preferred the 3D version. The trade has declared the movie a clear winner and distributors are looking forward to a spectacular week.

In Mumbai, Vinay Choksey of VIP Movies says, “It’s a good film and everyone is enjoying a horror movie after a long time. All-India, the movie earned Rs 36 crore and in Mumbai Rs12 crore over the weekend.There is a significant drop in collections today but the film has already recovered its investment.”

In East Punjab, Surendra Saluja Lakshya Movies says Raaz 3 ran almost house full in most cinemas and the 3D version has sparked a craze. “During the weekend, the film wrapped at Rs 3 crore.”

It’s the same story in West Bengal. Debashish Dey of Aum Moviez says, “The film has received tremendous response and Sunday’s collections were spectacular, especially the 3D version. Over the weekend, the film did business of Rs1.44 crore.”

Even in CP, shows were house full at the weekend. Sarang Chandak of Shri Rang Films adds, “In territories like CP, film featuring the really big starts like the Khans usually do very well but Raaz 3 evoked a very good weekend as it is very entertaining. The weekend collection in CP was around Rs 1.23 crore.”

In Rajasthan, Gaurav Gaur of O’Real Imaginations Combines remarks, “Raaz 3 is a very good film and we can expect it to do well this week too. The weekend collection was close to Rs 1.92 crore.”

Ravi Macchar of Sahyog Films in Nizam says, “Raaz 3 took an extraordinary opening on its first day. The weekend too was great and the 3D version is going great guns. Weekend collections are close to Rs1.82 crore.”

In Mysore, B H Basha of Bahar Enterprises concludes, “Raaz 3 is a quality horror film. The weekend for clocked Rs 1.85 crore along with Thursday’s paid previews.”
