Filmmaker Raj Kanwar passed away in Singapore following a kidney ailment. Friends and well wishers of the deceased director came forth to pay their condolences at his funeral.

The renowned producer, writer and director, Kanwar began his career with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Deewana (1992). The film met with a thumping success and also established Khan as an established actor. Soon after, the maverick director delivered a string of successful films including Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Jeet, Ladla and Judaai, within a short span of time.

Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta also made their debut with Kanwar’s film Andaaz. In addition, the director had also worked with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar on various films and helped to establish them in the industry.

His demise has created a huge void in the Hindi film industry. We pay our deep condolences to the departed soul.
