Simi Garewal, who is remembered for her unforgettable role in Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker, is all set to return to the silver screen –not as an actor but director. Years ago, she had made a film titled Rukhsat (1988), after which she kept busy hosting shows on television.

Twenty four years is a long time but Garewal will indeed take the directorial chair again. She’s written the screenplay herself. Unlike the new trend, where filmmakers approach corporate houses to back their movies, Garewal is apparently teaming up with a foreign company to make her film. We, at Box Office India, welcome her back to direction and wish her luck!
