This is an animated film with an important message – to respect not just people but animals too.
The story revolves around a Chiclet, Green Chic, and his family who live happily in the jungle. One day, Chiclet’s mother is killed by a hunter. Chiclet’s father, in an attempt to save her, is held captive by the hunter and is taken to Mumbai.
Heartbroken, Chiclet gathers strength and with the blessings of his Guruji, a swan, takes a vow to rescue his dad from the clutches of human beings. His best friends – a monkey and a duck, join him in this journey from the jungle to the unknown city of Mumbai to complete this mission.
They encounter a dog, who takes on the mantle of locating Chiclet’s dad. He has a fantastic network of animals and a sophisticated surveillance system through which he controls the entire animal world in Mumbai. How the Chiclet succeeds in finding his dad forms the crux of the story.
The story is engrossing and entertaining from the very beginning.
Direction has been handled wonderfully and the Chiclet’s adventures are fascinating. The flow of the story is good and editing is crisp. The duration of the film is perfect as it caters to the young audience. The animation too has been handled creatively, with every detail of every character in check.
The voiceover is apt and makes it easy to relate to the temperament of each character. The background score is good and helps to create an adventurous feel to each scene.
Verdict: Though well-made, it will be tough to survive at the box office.
