3 Reasons to Watch Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam

Mani Ratnam directs an ensemble cast which includes Aravind Swami, STR, Jyotika, Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arun Vijay and Prakashraj in one of his most ambitious films yet. Written by Mani Ratnam and Siva Ananth, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (CCV) is produced by Subaskaran and Mani Ratnam under the Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies banners. Music is by A R Rahman.

1. Thalapathi and Aaytha Ezhuthu are stand-out films in Mani Ratnam career, not just because of their storylines but also because they were memorable films with an ensemble cast. The casting of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam reminds us of these films. CCV brings together an extremely talented cast and it will be a treat to see their histrionics on screen.

2. AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam have given us some unforgettable music together. From their first association Roja to their latest Kaatru Veliyidai, music has always made an impact irrespective of the fate of the film. Two tracks from the film have been released and they have raised the expectations around the film.

3. Santosh Sivan’s cinematography, the chemistry between the actors, Aravind Swami, STR and Arun Vijay, who play brothers, a stellar female cast that includes Jytoika, Aditi Rao Hydari and Aishwarya Rajesh, contribute to making CCV a film worth waiting for.
