Darshana Banik is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the remake of a Malayalam movie. The actress who made a mark in Bengali will be seen with Emraan Hashmi in Ezra. The film is directed by Jay Krishnan and also stars Imaad Shah and Manav Kaul.
Sharing her excitement about the film with a daily, Darshana said, “I am super excited with my Bollywood debut. The director had seen my pictures on social media and liked it. So, he asked me to give an audition in Mumbai. And after several rounds of auditions, I eventually bagged the role. The first schedule of shooting has been completed in Mauritius. It was a lovely experience and no one on the set made me feel like a newcomer. It was like one big happy family. Before the shoot began, there were three rounds of look test and I was also asked to maintain a strict diet.”
About working with Emraan she said, “He is a very nice person and really good looking. All this while, I have seen him on screen in different films. Now that I am working with him, I was initially a bit star-struck. It's a great experience to work with Jay Krishnan as well. He believes in my abilities and is also very encouraging.”
