Here’s how Ali Abbas Zafar named Salman Khan’s character as Bharat

Salman Khan fans are awaiting the release of Bharat with bated breath. The posters, the teaser and the trailer have highly impressed them and have grabbed several eyeballs.

We got to know that the director of the film Ali Abbas Zafar, put a lot of thought into what the name of his lead character was going to be and came to the conclusion of Bharat.

In an interview with an entertainment daily, Zafar revealed that after giving a thought to Ram, Arjun and Karna, he kept the name Bharat.

According to him, "I thought Ram is an ideal hero from mythology. Could the character be called Arjun because he is doing it for his dharmakarma? Or should he be called Karna, a selfless hero? What do I call the film?"

He added saying, "I felt if he is synonymous with what the nation has been over the generations, he should be named after the country. One night at 3 AM, I was tossing on the bed, thinking hard, and then I had it: Bharat."

He even said that he immediately shared the name with Salman Khan and the producer Atul Agnihotri who were on board with the idea.

Along with Khan, the film will see stars such as Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu, Nora Fatehi, Jackie Shroff, and Sonali Kulkarni in important roles. Produced by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banners of Reel Life Productions, Salman Khan Films and T-Series, it is slated to release on June 5.
