What’s It All About?
The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) showcases a combination of features, shorts and documentaries. IFFLA’s opening and closing night galas begin with a screening of a feature film, and the highly anticipated Bollywood night programme, which includes late-night screenings of classic, new, fresh and noteworthy films from the Hindi film industry. The festival also recognises acclaimed Indian filmmakers.

Lipstick Under My Burkha
Alankrita Shrivastava’s directorial Lipstick Under My Burkha is set in rural India. The plot revolves around four women trapped in different worlds and who live out their desires through secret acts of rebellion. Trapped in a conservative society, these women break the mould and go in search of a little freedom. The film features Konkona Sensharma, Ratna Pathak Shah and Aahana Kumra.

In the holy city of Varanasi, 77-year-old Daya waits for the end with his dutiful son, in this debut feature by director Shubhashish Bhutiani.
