What’s It All About?

This is the 65th edition of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), the oldest and most significant film festival in Australia. MIFF takes place in the heart of the city and it showcases films from around the world but it is equally committed to local films. It also hosts celebratory world premieres of local films. MIFF has awards for two categories every year, the Short Film Award and the Audience Award. This year, the eligible short films will compete for a cash prize of $42,000.

Indian Connect

Raam Reddy’s directorial Thithi has been shortlisted for the festival. The story is about how the generations of sons who live in a village in South India react to the death of Century Gowda, their grandfather, a 101-year-old man. The three storylines intertwine before converging at Century Gowda’s ‘Thithi’, the final rite 11 days after a death.
