The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) continues to bring the finest in world cinema to South Florida. The festival bridges cultural understanding and encourages artistic development by provoking thought through film. Films will be screened at several venues across the city centre, including features, documentaries, short films and retrospectives.

Norman: The Moderate Rise And Tragic Fall Of A New York Fixer

The film is about Norman Oppenheimer, a small-time operator. He befriends a young politician at a low point in his life. Three years later, when the politician becomes an influential world leader, Norman’s life dramatically changes for better and worse. The film is directed by Joseph Cedar and features Richard Gere, Lior Ashkenazi, Hank Azaria, Steve Buscemi, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Michael Sheen and Dan Stevens.

Lipstick Under My Burkha

Alankrita Shrivastava’s directorial Lipstick Under My Burkha is set in rural India. The plot revolves around four women trapped in different worlds and who live out their desires through secret acts of rebellion. Trapped in a conservative society, these women break the mould and go in search of a little freedom. The film features Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak and Aahana Kumra.
