Though the upcoming Hindi film Mission Mangal boasts of some big names from Hindi cinema like Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Taapsee Pannu, an actor who is being noticed in the trailers is none other than HG Dattatreya.
The veteran Kannada actor was chosen by director Jagan Shakti for the film. In an interview with a leading daily, Dattanna, as he is fondly known as, spoke about his character in the film. He said, “In the film, Akshay (Kumar) and Vidya (Balan) play two highly-motivated people, who want to make the impossible possible, who leads a team of people who are reluctantly pushed into the project, including me. I play Ananth Iyer, the senior-most person on the team, who is all set to retire in a year’s time. “
Talking about the film he said, "It is a highly motivating subject, especially for the younger crowd. The film also brings to the fore the native wisdom of the Indian middle-class women, which contributes greatly to the success of the mission. While many might think this is a women-centric subject, Akshay leads the film.”
Mission Mangal will hit the screens on August 15.
