Priyadarshan directorial Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is one of the most awaited films of Mollywood. The film stars superstar Mohanlal in the lead role.
In an interview with a leading daily, director Priyadarshan talked about the film which is a period drama with fictional elements. He explains, "I have ensured that the movie has a lot of fictional elements that would enable us to sell it a pan Indian audience to recover the movie’s massive budget.”
He further added, “Kunjali Marakkar is India’s first naval commander. Mohanlal said let’s dedicate it to the Indian Navy and that’s also what we have tried to do with the film.”
On adding to this he also said, that the film will also appeal to the international audience and hence they are planning to release it even in China.
There are rumours that the release dates of the film to be in December 2019 or January 2020.
As per the reports of a leading daily, the team has finished shooting for the film, which also has Manju Warrier, Suniel Shetty, Keerthy Suresh and Arjun Sarja in important roles. VFX works of the film are currently progressing.
