In its second week since release, Gotro is going strong at the Bengali box office. Much like Konttho, the Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee directorial will had its national release last Friday.
Gotro is based on a social issue and tries to remind us of the importance of humanity over religion through a heart-warming story. The film sees an elderly woman striking a unique bond with an ex-convict who is entrusted with taking care of her. It’s a heartwarming story of love, faith and redemption. After the 2011 film Icche, this is Nandita and Shiboprosad’s second film focusing on the mother-son relationship. And it looks like, the film which released on August 23, has struck the right chord among the movie lovers.
