It has done the same again but this time with a twist and its a beautiful one!!! Pati Patni Aur Woh is a revamp of the 1978 version of Sanjeev Kumar starrer classic by the same title.
Abhinav Tyagi aka Chintu Tyagi (Kartik Aaryan) is a happily married Government employee residing in Kanpur. Abhinav’s wife Vedika Tripathi (Bhumi Pednekar) desires to shift and settle in Delhi. Due to her this desire, Abhinav is struggling in his married life and not able to extend his family and fulfill the wishes of his parents to become grandparents.
That's when the elegantly charming Tapasya Singh (Ananya Panday) enters Abhinav’s office to seek help for setting up her boutique in Kanpur. Smitten by the beauty and irresistible grace of Tapasya, Abhinav starts flirting with his fantasies and dreams turning into reality. The adventures of Chintu are going as per his desires, but what will happen when Tapasya comes to know the truth? what about Vedika Tripathi in this whole scenario? The movie unfolds all these questions.
The Happy Bhaag Jayegi’ (2016) and ‘Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi’ (2018) famed director, Mudassar Aziz's excellent dialogues and brilliant direction carries and maintains the movie plot elegantly. In spite of the predictable storyline, Mudassar Aziz manages to keep the audience hooked up throughout. Even though the first half takes time to build up, the second half is quite breezy. The writer has beautifully molded the story keeping in mind the present real situation and current generations' expectations. In Bollywood, there are actors and there are stars, Kartik Aaryan is definitely the latter. The confused, emotional and comedy Kartik Aaryan does phenomenal work in all three categories. He is adorable and the chemistry between him and both actresses is to watch out for.
The talented Aparshakti Khurana is impressive and steals the show, and has outdone himself. He has got some of the best one-liners, which will crack you up. He is just brilliant. The Kartik and Aparshakti Khurana duo will keep you glued to the screen throughout. Ananya Panday, the Student Of The Year debutant looks extremely beautiful and has a great screen presence. Bhumi Pednekar, it's her fourth film of the year and she does an outstanding job as 'Patni'. Her presence on screen and dialogue delivery is to the point. Sunny Singh plays an important cameo role in the film.
Despite being a predictable story, it's a sheer entertainer!
The performances, funny dialogues, amazing background music, and wonderful direction won't let you bore at all. If you are a Bollywood masala-film lover then its surely a must-watch film.
