Vijay Sethupathi was in Mumbai today for the teaser launch of the magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy starring Chiranjeevi in the lead role. During the media interaction, Vijay Sethupathi was asked if he planned to enter Bollywood. To this, he said that there were no such plans but he was in talks for a role in a film and nothing more than that was happening at the moment.
The actor was recently in Melbourne for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where he won the Best Actor award for his performance as the transgender Shilpa in Super Deluxe. At the festival, Shah Rukh Khan called him the best actor in India. When asked how he felt on hearing this, Vijay said, "Maybe he made a mistake." But the he said that he never expected such appreciation and he was overwhelmed.
Vijay Sethupathi makes his debut in Telugu with this film. Directed by Surender Reddy, the Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Jagapathi Babu, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Tamannaah and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Ram Charan under his home banner Konidela Productions Company.
Besides Telugu, the film will release in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. It will hit screens on October 2.
